Since the first 1460 boot rolled off the production line 60 years ago, the core markings on Dr Martens footwear haven’t changed. But over time, the yellow welt stitch and heel loop have become a symbol of nonconformist attitude.
To celebrate their 60th anniversary, Docs have created a new collection that pays tribute to their core DNA — by cranking it up to the max. This 1460 boot is kitted out with not one, but two yellow stitches through the welt, and built from Smooth Slice, a raw-edged leather with yellow backing. Tagged with TWO scripted heel loops, the boots are welted on a smoke DMS sole.
- Born on 01.04.60. Named the 1460. Over six decades, the 8-eye work boot has become iconic
- Smooth Slice is the original Docs Smooth leather with added character. The base color is different to the top — showing a pop of contrasting Yellow underneath
- Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed at 700°C and reinforced with signature welt stitch
